Meet the Team

Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Tyler spent most of his life playing in the Rockies. Having been at Out There since the doors opened, Tyler has taken on the role of General Store Manager and you will often find him roaming the floors in search of great outdoor conversation. An avid cyclist, cross country skier and barefoot hiker, Tyler constantly searches for the next heart rate elevating adventure. Some recent adventures include Rundle’s Revenge, 24 Hrs of Adrenalin and teaching his five year old to build snow caves!

Originally from Yellowknife, NWT, Colin has lived in Calgary for the past seven years and has worked at Out There for four years. As the Purchasing Manager at Out There, Colin’s responsible for seeking out the latest and greatest product to fill the shelves. An avid ultramarathon runner, some of Colin’s latest adventures include a R2R2R (Rim-to-rim-to-rim) crossing of the Grand Canyon, completing the Canadian Death Race solo and finishing his first 24-Hour race.

George left his role at IBM Canada in 2000 to pursue entrepreneurial ventures with his life long friend and business partner, Jamie Clarke. George joined Azimuth (Clarke’s adventure business) in January of 2000 to manage operations & business development activities. In early 2003, George and Jamie founded Out There Inc. in pursuit of creating an innovative brand in the active lifestyle segment.

Jamie Clarke is an accomplished international mountaineer-adventurer and 20-year veteran of expeditions across the world. He has climbed the Seven Summits, traveled to 55 countries, written books and made films about his grueling journeys. While not adventuring, he’s a popular public speaker and businessman. Jamie is an ordinary person seeking extraordinary experiences and tries to inspire others to do the same in their own personal ways.

Originally from Israel,Yael has lived in Canada for the past 4 years. She joined Out There in the summer of 2012. Yael loves to travel and has visited India, Sri-Lanka, New-Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, Finland and Norway. Ever since her first 5-day hike in Berg Lake in 2009, Yael has been in love with the Canadian Rockies. She has also earned her certification as an assistant hiking guide with the Canadian Mountain Guide Association.

From the ski town of Tremblant, QC, Christine grew up with skiing in her genes. She says "My love of skiing means I love being close to the Rockies—champagne powder, bring it!" An awesome team, great brands & an innovative business are only a few of the reasons Christina was happy to join the purchasing team in the spring of 2012. Christina is passionate about travelling, sustainable development, and the outdoors. Her latest adventures include completing her BSc. in Europe, travelling Southeast Asia & Africa, and skiing Polar Peak on a powder day.
